MACH ‘Rona

MACH ‘Rona

This aircraft was designed for the 2019-2020 competition, which was to simulate a banner towing passenger bush plane. This competition was required to have the following features:

  • A deploy-able banner that is stowed during take off and must unfurl in flight

  • The ability to detach and drop the banner prior to landing

  • Ability to take off in under 20 feet of runway

  • Inclusion space for small simulated passengers and cargo with individual restraints

This aircraft was not able to fly at competition due to the cancellation of the 2019-2020 season due to COVID-19. This resulted in a full shutdown of operations prior to the completion of construction of the final competition aircraft. A design report was created for this craft and place 28th out of 101 teams at a virtual competition.
